Management Shift Comes After Poor Response
Brinkman steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster initial reveal last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated staff about this decision through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had shown the necessity for a more defined game identity.
The president expressed that the developers is now reimagining the project with a refreshed focus, aiming to better meet player expectations.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
This announcement mirrors a comparable move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock development group.
